- 3 tsp Kissan Garam Masala
- 2 tbsp Cooking Oil
- 1 medium Finely chopped onlion
- 1 tsp Salt
- 1 tsp Turmeric Powder
- 2 tsp Red Chilli Powder
- 2 tsp Cumin
- 2 tsp Coriander powder
- 1/2 cup Fresh finely chopped cilantro
Instructions
-
Peel and devein 1 1/2 lb shrimp, rinse and gently drain and transfer to a larger bowl.
-
Add in the Kissan tandoori powder. (All brands are pretty good, but I do prefer to use Kissan Tandoori Masala, perfect balance of flavor and great color)
-
Squeeze fresh lime and add the minced garlic. Mix and set aside while you make the gravy part of this amazing dish
-
In a large frying pan add oil and heat for a few seconds on high heat.
-
Add the minced onion and sauté oh medium-high heat until golden brown. (do not over brown as onions become bitter)
-
Add in all the dry ingredients to the onions and sauté until you see that the oil has started to separate from the mixture.
-
At this point add in the marinating shrimp and cook on high heat for a few minutes stirring frequently.
-
Turn down the heat to medium and add the water. cover and cook until shrimp are tender but firm to the touch.
-
Usually about 10 minutes depending on how large your shrimps are.
-
Garnish with cilantro and garnish with wedges of lime and a little red onion for color.
-
Now wasn't that easy? I love this dish with rice, or naan. Or even as an appetizer.
