South Indian Cuisine - Prawn Curry
Cook Time: 30 mins Course: Main Cuisine: South Indian Servings: 3
Ingredients:
- 2 tbsp Kissan Madras Curry Powder
- 1/2 tsp Kissan Garam Masala
- 5 tbsp Kissan Coconut Oil
- 300 g Prawns (cleaned)
- 1 tbsp Chilli Powder
- 1/2 tbsp Turmeric
- 1 tbsp Coriander powder
- 1/2 tbsp black pepper powder
- 15-20 Curry Leaves
- 1/2 tsp Mustard Seeds
- 1/2 tsp Fennel Seeds
- 2 cups sliced onions
- 1 cup chopped tomatoes
- 1 tsp Ginger (chopped)
- 2 tsp Garlic (chopped)
- Salt as per taste
- Fresh Coriander for garnish
Instructions:
- Heat Kissan Coconut Oil in a pan.
- When the oil is hot, add the mustard and fennel seeds and allow them to crackle for a few seconds.
- Add onion and ½ teaspoon salt and cook until onion turns slightly born in colour.
- Add ginger, garlic and curry leaves and cook for a minute
- The add tomatoes and cook for 3-4 minutes until tomatoes are mushy.
- Now add Kissan Madras Curry Powder, coriander powder, turmeric, red chilli powder and Kissan Garam Masala and cook for a minute.
- Add a cup of water. Cook the dish for 3–4 minutes over medium heat with the lid on.
- Add prawns and black pepper powder. Cook for another 5-6 minutes.
- Garnish with coriander and serve hot.
